Vision of the Future is the second of two in The Hand of Thrawn duology. This book takes place ten years after The Thrawn Trilogy and if you liked the first trilogy by Timothy Zahn you will love this duology written by him. In Vision of the Future Han and Lando are trying to infiltrate the Empire secret capital Bastion to retrieve information that is vital to the New Republic survival. Meanwhile Leia finds out that the Empire wants to rendezvous about a potential peace agreement. Leia finds herself talking peace with Admiral Pellaeon onboard his Star Destroyer, Chimaera. After they try and work out some start to this peace agreement Ghent is sent to Yaga Minor to try and hack for the same information that Han and Lando are looking for. As Ghent is sent off Talon Karrde is also looking for the same information but not from the Empire. He is looking for his the person whose business he took over. At the same time Luke and Mara along with R2-D2 are on a remote world that they are trapped on. This world is inhabited by a few of the same species as Grand Admiral Thrawn and thus they want Mara to be part of the reconstruction process of the Empire. When Mara refuses she is about to be killed but then Luke finds her and they race for their lives. When Luke and Mara find out that this world is indeed very powerful to the Empire they try and destroy the power generator to it but instead find certain doom. On one last attempt at trying to save their lives Luke proposes to Mara and then go into a Jedi trance read the book to find out end! This book is particularly good, but why shouldnt it be! Its written by a #1 New York Best-selling Author.
